Career

He relocated to Lagos and began sharing the stage with Blackface Naija.

While attending high school in Benue, he encountered BlackFace. He later went on to establish the trio band Plantashun Boiz with Blackface (Ahmedu Augustine Obiabo) and musician Faze (Chibuzor Oji).

Before breaking up in 2004, Plantashun Boiz had two successful albums published on Nelson Brown’s label, Dove Records: Body and Soul (2000) and Sold Out (2003).

Years of strained relationships preceded the band’s dissolution and the beginning of the members’ solo careers.

The group reunited in 2007 to record their third and last album, Plan B, years after the breakup known as the “Faze vs. Tuface” fight (2007).

BlackFace frequently asserted that 2Face was playing songs that they both co-wrote while failing to give him the proceeds. The dispute was finally resolved peacefully after a protracted legal and media struggle.

After Plantashun Boyz split up in 2004, each band member pursued a solo musical career. In 2004, 2Baba’s debut solo album Face 2 Face was released, solidifying his position as a promising solo artist.

After releasing his debut album, he followed it up with the 2006 release of Grass 2 Grace, which featured the singles “One Love,” “True Love,” and “4 Instance.” The company Hypertek Entertainment was founded by him.
