Chukwuebuka Anozie Obi, the Spiritual Director of Zion Prayer Movement Outreach, has called on Nigerians to seek profound national transformation and a return to spiritual values for unity and economic development. Represented by Evangelical Minister Patrick Ihionu during an event at Zion Ground in Okota, Lagos, Obi emphasized that true economic progress can only be achieved when individuals align with divine principles, rather than relying solely on government policies.
“We must return to God so He can heal our land. This is a call for unity and a change in our approach to national and economic challenges. We need to work hard in addition to our prayers. Blaming the government won’t suffice. We must assist one another and embody the values of good leadership,” Obi stated.
As the ministry concluded its 100-day fasting period, Obi urged Nigerians to increase acts of charity, care for the poor, and personal repentance. He highlighted the fasting period as an opportunity for introspection, a time to correct past wrongs, and a period to demonstrate compassion and support for the less privileged.
Regarding the ongoing court case involving controversial blogger Mr. Chizorom Harrison Ofoegbu, also known as Ijele, who is on trial for threatening Evangelist Ebuka Obi, the Spiritual Director noted that Ofoegbu had been granted bail several months ago.
John Nwokwu, providing further updates, confirmed that Ofoegbu had met all bail conditions and should have been released. However, he remains in detention due to additional allegations of cybercrime unrelated to the Zion Ministry and Evangelist Obi. Nwokwu added that these charges involve other parties and are awaiting further legal proceedings.
