Mercy Nnenda Chinwo, popularly known as Mercy Chinwo or Mercy Chinwo-Blessed, is a highly celebrated Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter, and actress. Born on September 5, 1990, in Rivers State, southern Nigeria, she is renowned for her powerful vocals and inspiring music that blends gospel, Igbo Christian music, contemporary gospel, and worship. Mercy Chinwo rose to national fame after winning the second season of the Nigerian Idol music talent show in 2012, which significantly propelled her career in the music industry.
In 2017, she signed a recording contract with EeZee Conceptz, where she released major hits like “Excess Love” (2018), which gained international acclaim. After her contract with EeZee Conceptz expired in 2022, she and her husband launched their own label, Grace and Truth Nation (GNT Nation). Mercy Chinwo is married to Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, whom she wed on August 13, 2022, in Port Harcourt. They welcomed their first child in 2023. Beyond music, she is also involved in philanthropy through the MercyisBlessed Foundation, focused on supporting the less privileged and youth development. She has received numerous awards, including multiple Africa Gospel Awards and AFRIMMA Awards.
