Nathaniel Bassey (born August 27, 1981) is a Nigerian gospel musician, trumpeter, worship leader, and pastor. He hails from Lagos State and is originally from Ikot Ofon Ikono in Akwa Ibom State . He studied International Relations and Politics at the University of Lagos before pursuing political studies in London, and he further honed his musical talent at a Middlesex University summer program.
A multi-dimensional gospel artist, Bassey is best known for his heartfelt worship anthems—such as Imela, Onise Iyanu, and Olowogbogboro—and for pioneering the global #HallelujahChallenge, a midnight Instagram worship session that began in June 2017. He serves as the pastor of The Oasis Lagos (RCCG Kings Court youth church) and frequently leads worship at major events like The Experience.
Nathaniel is married to Sarah Bassey, whom he wed in 2013 after a 12‑year relationship, and they are blessed with children.
