Niiella, born Daniella Dankwah-Coffie, is a UK-based Ghanaian gospel singer, songwriter, and vocal coach whose soulful voice and dynamic artistry have garnered international acclaim.
Raised in a Christian family of seven, with both parents serving as pastors, she began singing at a young age and started writing songs at 15. Her musical journey gained momentum in 2011 when she became the first runner-up in Ghana’s Stars of the Future reality show.
In 2020, Niiella made history as the first UK gospel artist to reach the top 10 on BET’s Sunday Best, impressing judges with her rendition of “His Eye Is on the Sparrow” . Her debut album, Shades of Mercy, released in 2017, features collaborations with artists like Joe Mettle.
In 2022, she was honored as Best Female Vocalist at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards for her performance of “Where You Are” with the UK-based Sanctuary Music collective. She secured the same award again in 2023 for her feature on Kyei Mensah’s single “Nothing’s Too Hard”.
Beyond her music, Niiella is the founder of VOBOX, a vocal coaching initiative aimed at empowering singers to discover their unique voices and prioritize vocal health. Her latest EP, Living Out Love, released under Integrated Music Rights, showcases her versatility and commitment to inspiring audiences through gospel music.
