Nozipho Phiri, born in 1990 in Empangeni, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, is a celebrated gospel singer and songwriter renowned for her powerful soprano vocals and emotive performances.
She gained prominence as a lead vocalist with the acclaimed gospel ensemble Joyous Celebration, contributing to hits like “Mayenzeke,” “Mukhulu Ujesu,” and “Ngizokulandela.” In 2024, she embarked on a solo career, recording her debut live album, Potter’s House, at Goshen City Church in Johannesburg. The album reflects her personal faith journey and showcases her versatility as an artist blending traditional South African gospel with contemporary influences. Phiri is also a graduate with a BA in Sociology and Psychology from the University of Zululand and a Certificate in Teaching (PGCE).
Her single “Uyikho Konke,” featured in Joyous Celebration 28, has garnered significant attention, with its official video live at the Durban ICC amassing millions of views.
