Formed in 2008, Spirit Of Praise showcases a diverse array of South Africa’s foremost gospel artists, bringing together both legendary figures and emerging talents under one umbrella. The collective is spearheaded by prominent figures in South African gospel, most notably Bishop Benjamin Dube.
The group’s music spans a wide range of Gospel sub-genres, including Traditional Gospel, Contemporary Gospel, and Praise & Worship, often blending soulful vocals with vibrant African musical styles. Spirit Of Praise is renowned for its live concert recordings, which have consistently resulted in multi-volume album series. They have released numerous successful albums, with their volumes being highly anticipated events in the African gospel music calendar, such as Spirit Of Praise Vol. 9 released in September 2023 and Spirit Of Praise Vol. 10 recorded in May 2024. Over the years, the collective has amassed numerous accolades, including multiple Crown Awards and South African Music Awards (SAMAs), cementing their status as a powerhouse in African gospel music.
