Yo Maps, born Elton Mulenga on November 29, 1994, in Kasama, Zambia, is a celebrated Zambian singer, songwriter, and music producer. He gained prominence with his 2018 hit single “Finally” featuring Macky 2, which became a signature song in his career. Yo Maps is known for his unique blend of Afro-soul, Afro-pop, Zam-Rock, R&B, and Hip-Hop, contributing significantly to the Zambian music scene.
He began his musical journey in 2009 while attending Chibombo High School and recorded his first single, “Njikata Kuboko,” in 2016 after moving to Kabwe. His discography includes studio albums like Komando (2021), Try Again (2023), and My Hero (2024). Notable singles include “Mr. Romantic,” “Try Again” featuring Abel Chungu, and “Nga Teba Yahweh”.
Yo Maps has received several accolades, including multiple Ngoma Awards and the African Entertainment Awards USA for Best Male Artist. He is married to Kidist Kifle, with whom he has a daughter, Tendai. He also has a daughter, Bukata, from a previous relationship with Mwizukanji Nakamba.
