Yolanda Yvette Adams, professionally known as Yolanda Adams, is a Grammy Award-winning American gospel singer, actress, and radio host. Born on August 27, 1961, in Houston, Texas, she is often referred to as the “Queen of Contemporary Gospel Music.” She was previously married to Tim Crawford.
Yolanda Adams’ music is a powerful and eclectic mix of Gospel, R&B, and Soul. She is celebrated for her powerful voice and her ability to blend traditional gospel sounds with a contemporary flair, successfully crossing over into the mainstream music industry. Her discography includes multi-platinum albums and numerous hit singles, such as the Grammy-winning “Open My Heart,” “I Believe I Can Fly,” and “Never Give Up.” She has released 11 studio albums, with five reaching number one on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart.
