Alhaji Rasaki Kolawole Ilori was born in Ibadan, Nigeria, in 1953. He is also known by the names General Kollington Ayinla, Alhaji Kebe ‘n’ Kwara, and Baba alagbado.

He is from Ilota, a hamlet outside of Ilorin in the Nigerian state of Kwara.

Ayinla Kollington Early Life
During the Civil War, the Nigerian Army enlisted him, and it was there that he first learned the fundamentals of music.

Ayinla Kollington Career
When Kollington won a competition held by the late President of Nigeria, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, his musical career officially began in 1965. In 1974, he began making recordings for Nigerian EMI.

Unlike his contemporaries, who relied on talking and Squeeze drums, he introduced the potent bata drum. He also changed the band’s name to Fuji 78 and established his own label, Kollington Records, in 1982, as Fuji started to seriously challenge Juju as Nigeria’s most well-known contemporary roots music.
Due to their imagined rivalry, which was resolved prior to Late Barrister Ayinde’s passing, he is ranked second in Fuji to Late Barrister Ayinde.
