Relocation to Mozambique by Heidi Baker

Later, in 1995, the family relocated to Mozambique with their children in order to launch a brand-new ministry devoted to providing for orphaned and abandoned children. A year after contracting tuberculosis, Baker developed pneumonia.
Despite her doctor’s advice, she attended a healing gathering in Toronto, Canada. When she said it was impossible to help them all, Jesus replied, “There will always be enough because I died,” in a vision she had during the healing meeting.
He showed her thousands of children to feed. She got healed as a result of this interaction.
Their ministry bargained with the Mozambican government to take over the financial and operational management of a former government orphanage in Chihango, close to Maputo, the country’s capital.
There were maybe 80 kids there at the time. The operations of Iris Global have grown over time to encompass well drilling, free health clinics, village feeding programs, running primary and secondary schools, cottage industries, and founding more than 5000 churches in Mozambique, with a total of over 10,000 Iris-affiliated churches in more than 20 countries.
Miracle reports from Iris Global are well-known. In a September 2010 paper in the Southern Medical Journal, the authors provided proof of “substantial improvements” in patients’ auditory and visual function who had been experiencing damage before receiving prayer from the ministry.
Along with their administrative responsibilities, the Bakers frequently speak at conferences and write books about Christian ministry and spirituality. They also travel the world.
The Bakers are “among the most significant leaders in international Pentecostalism,” according to Candy Gunther Brown, professor of religious studies at Indiana University.
