How To Make Yake Yake

Yake Yake is a Ghanaian staple made from steamed cassava. It is served with hot sauce and grilled fish.

For the ingredients you will need:
1 tuber of cassava
Water
1 tablespoon of corn flour
Salt (to taste)

Method:
Cut cassava into small sizes and pour into a bowl and soak overnight. Grate the cassava into a bowl the next day.
Mash the grated cassava with a small mortar and pestle and use a clean cloth to drain the water from the mashed cassava. Squeeze until all the water is drained.
Use a mesh strainer to sieve the dried cassava into a bowl.
Add one tablespoon of corn flour to the dried cassava and sieve again. Add some salt and mix well.
Now, boil some water in a saucepan.
Put a clean cloth into a colander and pour the cassava and corn flour mixture into it. Cover the saucepan and let the food steam for a while.
Turn off the heat and serve when it is ready.
