After a brief stay in her birthplace of Baltimore, Maryland, where she led the news on WBAL-TV for nearly three years, Baderinwa moved on to WABC in 2003. She took Roz Abrams’ place. In 2003, Abrams also quit WABC to become the 5 and 11 p.m. anchor at WCBS-TV.
On July 23, 2004, Baderinwa was writing a report about a place in Hackensack, New Jersey about local flooding when she was injured by a hit-and-run vehicle. She endured several operations. On December 13, 2004, the journalist returned to Eyewitness News following several months of recuperation and physical treatment.
Prior to moving up to the 5 p.m. broadcasts with Diana Williams, she was the anchor of the noon broadcasts. Additionally, on October 27, 2006, she made a guest co-host appearance on The View.
Liz Cho, who left that position to anchor the new WABC 4 p.m. newscast, was replaced as co-anchor of the 11 p.m. news by Baderinwa and Bill Ritter. She also continues to host the news at 5 p.m. and 11 p.m.
