Children of Blood and Bone, the acclaimed fantasy novel by Tomi Adeyemi, will soon be available to watch in a theater near you.
She had just received her college degree, was just 24 years old, and was offered a seven-figure book contract for devising the intriguing plot. According to Deadline, Paramount Pictures has acquired the rights to the trilogy. The project will be directed by and executive produced by Tomi Adeyemi. She will pen the script as well.
In association with Marty Bowen of Temple Hill Entertainment, Karen Rosenfelt of Sunswept Entertainment, and Wyck Godfrey, Paramount Pictures will produce this live-action movie for the big screen.
In a press statement, Daria Cercek, the co-president of Paramount Pictures Motion Group, stated that Tomi Adeyemi’s Children of Blood and Bone “has altered every expectation of what world-building fantasy can be.” Our studio, along with Tomi and our collaborators Wyck, Marty, and Karen, set out to bring this property to life on the big screen with a great deal of pride. We are confident that a broad audience will connect with this novel because of its timely issues and stimulating content.
The 2020 Forbes “30 Under 30” honoree shared the happy news on her Instagram page. She finally remarked, “I can share the news now.” “Thanks for bearing with me, people. I’ve been aching to give you every update because there has been so much going on behind the scenes with the movie and writing Book 3. First and foremost, CBB has a new location!! Ya gal is now writing and executive producing the movie, so I’m going to be working with the amazing crew @paramountpics to bring Zélie’s tale to life.
And I’m almost done with book 3—just a couple more drafts to go. In a few months, I’ll submit it to my publisher, after which it will go directly to print and land in your hands in 2023. Once again, I appreciate your patience with me. I am quite thrilled for the conclusion to this voyage because it is a BIG finish. I can’t wait to return with you all to Orsha. This is more than just a dream realized. I won’t quit till the job is finished. Love you all so much for making this possible and helping me with the writing of this story in so many different ways. I’ll see you at the movies. #childrenofbloodandbone.”
