Who is Clive Myrie’s wife Catherine?
Clive is quite a secret person and reveals just a little about his wife Catherine Myrie. Clive told Daily Mail’s Weekend Magazine that his wife is an upholsterer and furniture repairer who had worked in publishing. Clive has said that his wife gave him “the courage and space to pursue my dreams”.
Catherine’s Celebrity husband is a BBC news journalist and a frequent presenter of the BBC News at Six and Ten since 2010 as well as the BBC News Channel.
Before that, he has been the BBC’s Asia, Africa, Washington, Paris and Brussels correspondent. Clive has also appeared as a guest on hit BBC One Entertainment shows Have I Got News For You and Would I Lie To You. He now hosts Mastermind, taking over from John Humphrys in 2021.
He won the RTS Television Journalism award for best presenter, with one judge noting his “versatile, measured, compelling, relaxed but reassuring and empathetic” style.
When did Clive and Catherine Myrie get married and do they have kids?
Their dating history and the precise wedding date is not available yet. They met at the launch for a book on Swiss cheeses in 1992 while Catherine worked in publishing.
Six years after they tied the knot at the Corpus Cristi Catholic Church in Covent Garden. The couple honeymooned at Venezuela’s Maracaibo coast before moving to the States where Clive was working as the BBC’s LA correspondent at the time.
In an interview with the University of Sussex, he said that his wife is his most significant source of inspiration to pursue his dream of having a career in journalism.
He told them that his perfect day includes “a sunny day waking up to Radio 3 with some Bach on, a lovely breakfast with my wife, then a bit of antique rummaging”
Biography of Clive Myrie
Clive Myrie is a British newsreader, journalist and presenter who works for the BBC. Myrie is known for presenting the BBC News bulletins at 1pm, 6pm and 10pm, as well as for hosting news shows on the BBC News and BBC World News channels, and he also front’s BBC Two quiz show Mastermind.
He also continues to travel the world as a reporter and makes features and programmes for Panorama, Newsnight and Radio 4. He was born in Bolton, Lancashire in 1964 to Jamaican parents, who immigrated to the United Kingdom in the 1960s.
His mother was a seamstress who worked for high-profile fashion designer Mary Quant, while his father was a factory worker. He was educated at Hayward Grammar School, before attending the University of Sussex and studying Law.
Myrie started his career as a trainee for the BBC in 1987, where he was a local radio reporter. In 1996, he became a foreign correspondent and has since reported from more than 80 countries.
