The 35th SummerSlam professional wrestling event, presented by WWE, took place in 2022. It was open to the promotion’s Raw and SmackDown brand divisions’ wrestlers.
The event was broadcast on pay-per-view (PPV) in every country and livestreamed on Peacock in the US and the WWE Network overseas. The first SummerSlam that wasn’t held in August was hosted on Saturday, July 30, 2022, in Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.
Additionally, this was the first WWE PPV event after Vince McMahon, the company’s owner and chairman since 1982, announced his retirement.
