Athoms Mbuma, whose full name is Guelord Mbuma Nkanda, is a pastor, worship leader, teacher, and musician. He was born on April 5, 1983, in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, making his nationality Congolese. He is the senior pastor of Phila City of Hearing Church, also known as Phila Cité d’Exaucement Church, which has branches in Kinshasa and other cities worldwide. His ministry encompasses music, biblical teaching, and pastoral support, aiming to equip believers and foster a deep faith. He is also known for hosting “Teach!”, a daily Bible teaching program broadcast on EMCI TV.
Mbuma’s musical journey began in 1998 with the gospel music group GAEL, which he now coordinates. He has released albums, including “Bato ya losambo” in 2013 with his wife Nadège Mbuma, and “Nzembo” in 2021. While some of his music has been released under “Not On Label” or “Papy Zola Production,” he and Nadège Mbuma signed a production contract with Maajabu Gospel for their album “Nzembo.” His music blends gospel, soul, and R&B, and he is recognized for his uplifting lyrics and heartfelt melodies. Beyond music, he has founded a school and holds a Master’s in Christian Counseling and a Doctorate in Ministry from Mount Olive Institute in North Carolina.
