Deitrick Vaughn Haddon is an American gospel singer, songwriter, pianist, arranger, record producer, and pastor. Born on May 17, 1973, in Detroit, Michigan, he is widely recognized for pioneering progressive gospel and contemporary styles of music, often blending traditional spiritual themes with elements of R&B, hip-hop, and soul. Haddon grew up in the church, with his father, Bishop Clarence Haddon, being a pastor. He served as pastor and music director at Detroit’s Unity Cathedral of Faith early in his career. He was famously a cast member on Oxygen’s reality television show Preachers of L.A. Deitrick Haddon has been married twice; first to Damita Chandler (1996-2011), and currently to Dominique McTyer, whom he married in 2013.
Deitrick Haddon’s music spans the Gospel, Urban Gospel, Pop, and Soul genres. He has been active in the music industry since 1995, releasing over 20 albums, with five of them reaching the #1 spot on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart. Throughout his prolific career, he has been associated with various record labels including Tyscot, Arista, Verity, RCA Inspiration, and MNRK Music Group. He also founded his own label imprint, Red Jungle Records, in partnership with Tyscot Music & Entertainment, to develop other artists. Beyond his solo work, Haddon has also led the group Deitrick Haddon & Voices of Unity and continues to be a leading voice in pushing the boundaries of contemporary gospel music.
