Raised in a devout Christian family—his father a pastor and his mother a church minister—he grew up in Abuja, where his musical talents were nurtured from an early age. He pursued his education at Government Science Secondary School, Pyakasa, Abuja, and later at the Federal University of Technology, Minna.
Greatman Takit began his music career in 2011 with the release of his debut single “Ain’t Nobody”. He gained significant recognition with his 2016 EP Wildfire, which showcased his versatility and lyrical depth. In 2020, he departed from the gospel music group The Gratitude to focus on his solo career .
