JJ Heller, born Jennifer Judy Kellner on October 19, 1980, in San Jose, California, is an American Christian folk singer-songwriter renowned for her introspective lyrics and soothing melodies that blend elements of folk, pop, and contemporary Christian music.
She began writing songs during her college years at William Jessup University, where she met her husband and longtime collaborator, Dave Heller. Together, they have co-written and produced numerous albums, including Painted Red (2008), When I’m with You (2010), and the I Dream of You series, which features lullabies and reimagined classics.
Her songs “Your Hands” and “What Love Really Means” both peaked at number 13 on the Billboard Christian Songs chart. Since 2017, Heller has adopted a unique release strategy by unveiling a new single on the first Friday of each month, a move that has significantly expanded her listener base.
Operating independently under her own label, Stone Table Records, she maintains creative control over her music, allowing her to produce authentic and heartfelt content that resonates with a broad audience.
