Joel Lwaga is a Tanzanian gospel singer, songwriter, and preacher known for his uplifting music and impactful ministry. Born on September 23 in Dar es Salaam to a Christian family, he was raised by parents who were both pastors.
He pursued a degree in Economics before dedicating himself fully to music and ministry. Lwaga launched his music career in 2015 with the album Ananipenda, followed by Mimi ni wa Juu and the EP Unaweza in 2019. His songs, such as “Sitabaki Kama Nilivyo,” “Umejua Kunifurahisha,” and “Olodumare,” have resonated with audiences across East Africa. He is the founder and CEO of Heaven Culture Entertainment (HCE), his own record label.
In November 2020, he married Peace Jopec, and they have a son named Ethan. Lwaga’s contributions to gospel music have earned him accolades, including the East Africa Male Artist of the Year award in 2019. Beyond music, he is a dedicated preacher, ministering across East Africa and inspiring many with his message of hope and faith.
