Maverick City Music is an American contemporary worship music collective founded in 2018 by Tony Brown and Jonathan Jay in Atlanta, Georgia. Established to create space for diversity in the Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) and gospel genres, the group brings together a wide range of artists, including Naomi Raine, Chandler Moore, and Tasha Cobbs Leonard. Since their debut in 2019 with the EPs Maverick City, Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, they have released several acclaimed projects, such as Old Church Basement with Elevation Worship and Kingdom Book One with Kirk Franklin. Their notable songs include “Jireh,” “Promises,” and “Man of Your Word.” Maverick City Music has earned multiple accolades, including five Grammy Awards, and continues to influence the worship music scene with their innovative and inclusive approach.
