Nqubeko Mbatha is a highly acclaimed South African gospel musician, singer, songwriter, formally trained pianist, producer, and composer. He was born in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Mbatha is a true embodiment of gospel songcraft, known for his nuanced ballads and sophisticated arrangements. He spent the first decade of his professional career serving as a musical director and later producer for the beloved South African gospel ensemble, Joyous Celebration, a position he held for 11 years. Nqubeko Mbatha is married to fellow renowned South African gospel star, Ntokozo Mbambo, whom he wed in 2008.

Nqubeko Mbatha’s music primarily falls under the Gospel, Urban Gospel, and Contemporary Christian Music genres. He is celebrated for his profound lyrical depth and soulful melodies. After his impactful tenure with Joyous Celebration, he embarked on a successful solo career, releasing his debut album, Forever I’ll Worship, in 2011.
