Salau Aliu Olayiwola, popularly known as Testimony Jaga, is an award-winning Nigerian gospel music minister, singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. Born on March 9, 1983, in Nigeria, he transitioned from a Muslim upbringing to Christianity, which profoundly shaped his musical career. He is particularly recognized for his pioneering “Street Gospel Movement,” a unique ministry that combines music and social welfare services to spread the gospel, actively reaching out to the less privileged. Testimony Jaga is a convener of “One Jesus, One Church, One Hallelujah,” an annual event aimed at fostering unity.
Testimony Jaga’s musical style is often described as “Fujipop,” a compelling fusion of traditional Nigerian Fuji and Apala music with contemporary Afro-pop and urban gospel elements. His dynamic sound includes genres such as Afrobeats, Afropop, Fuji, Gospel, and Worship. He began his gospel music career through Loveworld Records under Pastor Chris Oyakhilome and has since released numerous popular songs, including “Igara” (which earned him “Artist of the Year” at the LIMA Awards in 2019), “Biggie Biggie,” “Not Normal” featuring Akpororo, “My Evidence” featuring Frank Edwards, and “DODOnDAWA.” He continues to release music under labels like SGM (Street Gospel Empire) and impacts lives with his unique style and message across various digital platforms.
