Costa Titch cause of death explained

After appearing to pass out on stage during a performance at a music festival over the weekend, South African rapper Costa Titch has passed away.

The rapper was 28 years old and went by the name Constantinos Tsobanoglou. At Ultra South Africa on Saturday in Johannesburg, Tsobanoglou had a performance.


Social media users shared a video of his performance in which he appears to fall onstage.

After being scooped up by someone standing nearby, he appeared to tumble again and fell off the platform after a few seconds.

Death has tragically knocked at our door, his family wrote in a memorial posted on his Instagram profile on Sunday.

Robbing us of Constantinos Tsobanoglou, our cherished son, brother, and grandson, whom South Africa had grown to love and idolize under his stage name “Costa Titch.”

The cause of death was not disclosed to the family.

“We’re grateful for everyone who was there during his final hours on earth, including the emergency personnel.

The statement read, “As a family, we are going through a trying time as we try to make sense of what has befallen us and ask that we be given the time and space to gather ourselves.

The memorial statement concluded,

“The Tsobanoglou family thanks you for the love and support you have given to our son and may you continue to lift him even in spirit.” Please remember us in your prayers and in the Lord’s esteem.

In a statement released on Sunday, Ultra South Africa stated:

“We are devastated by the sudden loss of the beloved South African artist Costa Titch, who tragically passed away this weekend.”

Tsobanoglou was regarded by the event as “a talented rapper, dancer, songwriter, collaborator” and “a galvanizing voice amongst South Africa’s amapiano scene.”

His family, friends, and our entire community, who are all mourning this tragic loss, are in our thoughts and prayers, the statement read.
