NYSC Relocates Bauchi Orientation Camp

NEW SITE CHOSEN FOR IMPROVED FACILITIES AND BETTER ACCOMMODATION FOR CORPS MEMBERS

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced a temporary relocation of the orientation camp for the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream II corps members to Adamu Tafawa Balewa College of Education in Kangere, Bauchi State. This move is necessary to facilitate the rehabilitation of the Permanent Orientation Camp located in Wailo, Ganjuwa Local Government Area. The renovation was directed by Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed to upgrade the camp facilities and ensure they meet the required standards.

The relocation will impact approximately 1,900 prospective corps members who are set to begin their orientation exercise from August 28 to September 17. This temporary camp arrangement at the Adamu Tafawa Balewa College of Education aims to provide a suitable environment for the orientation activities while the permanent camp undergoes necessary improvements. The NYSC Coordinator in Bauchi State, Mrs. Rifkatu Yakubu, emphasized that the renovation of the permanent camp will enhance the overall experience and safety of future corps members.

In light of the relocation, prospective corps members are advised to exercise caution during their travels. They are encouraged to avoid traveling at night and to break their journeys if necessary, resuming travel the following day to ensure their safety. This precautionary measure is aimed at reducing the risks associated with travel and ensuring that all corps members arrive at their orientation site safely and on time.
