Moneysign Suede Cause of Death (Updated)

Rapper MoneySign Suede died after he was stabbed in a shower at a California prison, authorities and his attorney said. Jaime Brugada Valdez, 22, of Huntington Park, was found in the shower area of the Correctional Training Facility in Soledad shortly before 10 p.m. Tuesday, according to a statement from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

He passed away at a prison medical facility in spite of attempts to save his life. The organization said his death was being looked into as a homicide but did not go into depth about his injuries.

According to Nicholas Rosenberg, Valdez’s attorney, “They said it was a stabbing to the neck.”

According to the Times, Suede signed with Atlantic Records in 2021 and released his most recent album, “Parkside Baby,” in September.

His death is being looked into as a possible homicide. More than 4,000 prisoners with minimum and medium levels of security are housed in the Monterey County jail.

According to state prison officials, Valdez was transported there after being sentenced in Riverside County last December to serve two years and eight months on two counts of being a convicted felon in possession of a gun.

The Los Angeles artist gained notoriety last year after the release of his self-titled debut album and was scheduled for release from prison in the upcoming weeks. He was scheduled to be freed from jail in the upcoming weeks.

The artist, who managed to pursue his aspirations while being in and out of jail throughout his adult life, released two additional recordings under the Atlantic recordings label.

He was a Los Angeles, California native who was signed to Atlantic Records and best known for his songs BACK TO THE BAG, She Gon Choose, and Veteran.

In an interview with the music blog Passion Weiss, Suede discussed his family and promised to “see my people every day.”
