Sainath Durge, a Yuva Sena office-holder regarded as close to Aaditya Thackeray, was detained by Mumbai police on Monday in connection with the “morphed” video of former councilwoman Sheetal Mhatre, a spokesman for the Shiv Sena led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Durge’s arrest brings the total number of arrests in the case to five. Two people were detained on Sunday, while three people, including the person in charge of Matoshree’s Facebook page, were detained on Monday.
After the “morphed” video went viral on Sunday, Dahisar police filed an FIR. In the footage, Mhatre, Shinde, and party MLA Prakash Surve are seen standing in a car during a rally.
Mhatre may be seen leaning toward Surve at one point and kissing him on the cheek.
Ashok Mishra and Manas Kunwar were both taken into custody by the Dahisar police on Sunday.

“We arrested three more persons today bringing the total arrests in the case to five. They were produced before the court and remanded in police custody till March 15,” senior inspector Pravin Patil of Dahisar police station said.
“Those arrested today are Vinayak Davre, who handles the Facebook page of Matoshree, one Ravindra Choudhary, and Durge.”
