Why Mohbad left Marlian Records?

Nigerian street hop singer Mohbad has officially terminated his contract with Naira Marley’s Marlian Music record label.

On Tuesday, October 25, the singer’s management announced his separation from the record company. In a statement from his legal team, they claimed that Mohbad’s departure was due to the ongoing harassment he endured, which Naira Marley coordinated, as well as unpaid royalties since 2019.

The “KPK” singer’s departure occurred a few weeks after he used Twitter on October 5 to post pictures of injured bodies and claim that the Marlian crew had attacked him when he asked to have his management changed.

He wrote, “World pls help me oo I’m dying inside,” adding, “Just because I want to change my manager who is their brother, see what they did to me at Marlian House.”

“You have failed to make any advances since 2019 as mutually agreed by both parties, in violation of the terms of the agreement between our customer and yourself;

The statement stated, “You have also failed to pay all royalties due our client from all of his intellectual property works that have been monetized, released, and used by you from 2019 to date.”
