11 Persons Killed In Benin Road Accident – FRSC

According to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), 11 persons were killed in multiple accidents on Ore-Benin Road on Thursday.

Bisi Kazeem, the Corps Public Education Officer, made the announcement on Thursday in Abuja.

According to the statement, the accident happened at 9:04 a.m. on kilometer 20 of the Ovia Bridge inward Benin, Edo State.

The 19-person accident involved 10 male adults, eight female adults, and one female youngster.

According to the corps, 11 persons were killed, including three female adults, seven male adults, and one female kid, while eight others were injured to varying degrees.

“There were three vehicles involved, including a Dangote trailer at the back, one Kia saloon car with registration number LSD553HY that was brushed aside, and a Toyota Hiace Bus with registration number KET779AV in front,” Mr. Kazeem stated.

Benin Road Accident

In response to the disaster, FRSC Corps Marshal Dauda Biu warned drivers to be cautious if they notice mechanical flaws in their vehicles.

Mr. Biu also emphasized the need for drivers to perform routine and regular vehicle maintenance.

He stated that this was done to prevent needless road accidents that could result in the loss of human life and property damage.

According to Mr. Biu, the inquiry found that the accident occurred as a result of a brake failure, which resulted in a loss of control.

The injured were taken to the Saving Grace Hospital in Ovbiogie, Benin, Edo State, he added, while the dead were deposited at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital mortuary.

The Corps Marshal ordered a technical examination into the immediate and remote causes of the accident in order to prosecute those responsible.
