1. YouTuber Wow Mao caught in the USA leaked intelligence documents scandal

Wow Mao, a Filipino YouTuber based in the UK, got unintentionally caught up in a massive incident involving stolen US government data in April 2023.

He doesn’t reveal his real name or identity.
The materials were provided on the community server by a teen participant in Thug Shaker Central.

He didn’t mean to release the documents; he only wanted to impress the group with some items he read online.

Although it wasn’t connected to his discord server, Wow was watching the Thug Shaker Central server.

Due to the number of chat messages on the server, the YouTuber and his discord moderator, Kralj, did not instantly flag the content.

Mao spotted it when the news broke in April 2023, even though he thought the information had been uploaded on March 1, 2023.


2. Deniece Cornejo and Vhong Navarro’s sexual assaults court case

The SC’s latest ruling, issued on February 8, 2023, marked the end of a nine-year rollercoaster legal dispute between Deniece Cornejo and Vhong Navarro.


3. Matet de Leon and Nora Aunor’s business feud and Reconciliation

Matet de Leon, a Filipino actress who is also a music artist and film producer, complained about her adopted mother, Nora Aunor, on her Facebook page earlier in December 2022.

She asserted that Nora Aunor had plans to launch a rival company.

Matet said she confronted her mother for planning to launch a direct competitor. Nora advised her to resell her products and focus on acting.


4. Liza Soberano says ‘call me Hope’ was misunderstood

Another new scandal in social media Philippines is about Filipino-American actress Liza Soberano. She trended for a few weeks because fans mistook her.

The actress asked her supporters to address her as “Hope” in an e-commerce ad in February 2023.


5. Shopee is under fire for supporting Toni Gonzaga as an actress

Social media exploded in September 2022 after Shopee backed Toni Gonzaga. Toni Gonzaga, a Filipino actress, and YouTuber, was a fervent fan of President Marcos.

Users of Twitter and Facebook urged people to deactivate and uninstall the Shopee mobile app.


Many Filipino Shopee online customers were disappointed in the ecommerce giant for wanting to pay Gonzaga a fat check after firing thousands of local staff to downsize.
