Nigerian video blogger and politician Elizabeth Obanla has raised alarm over threats to her life and that of her children, stemming from her political stance.
In a heartfelt plea yesterday, Obanla revealed that she has been receiving ominous phone calls, warning her that a hit has been ordered against her.
Despite one of the alleged perpetrators being in police custody, the threats have persisted, leaving her in constant fear for her safety.
Obanla has taken the matter to the Nigeria Police Force but felt compelled to alert the public, the international community, and her network of family, friends, and colleagues about the dire situation.
She indicated that the threats are linked to her support for the All Progressives Congress (APC), a stance that has made her a target for those who oppose the current government.
According to Obanla, the hostility escalated due to a personal conflict with a particular individual, who she believes has incited others to harm her and her family. She urges that if anything happens to her, the individuals involved should be held accountable.
