Sha’Carri Richardson was born in Dallas, Texas on March 25, 2000. She had a difficult childhood after her mother abandoned her and she was raised by her grandmother and aunt.

She was drawn to sprinting and track and field from a young age, having grown up surrounded by her aunt, Sha’Carri Richardson’s, accomplishments and medals.

While the champion’s home situation caused her to have a hard start, she began training and competing for a track at a young age and competed in her first proper race in the US Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Junior Olympics in 2016, where she took first place in her age category.

While competing at a national level, she continued to run for her high school, Carter High School, further developing her skills.

In 2017, she won the USA Track & Field (USATF) Junior Championships and also helped Team USA win the Pan American U20 Championships in the 410-meter relay.

At this moment, the young athlete began to attract the attention of possible universities, and she enrolled at Louisiana State University (LSU) in 2018.

Her abilities only developed from there, and while she only competed for her college for one year before accepting a professional deal, she did a lot for the squad in the short time she was there.
