The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi has been confirmed dead.
He died a few hours ago at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State, at the age of 83, after a brief illness, according to what we’ve learned.
He is the third senior monarch in Oyo State to die in the last five months, and his death has been reported on several major Nigerian news outlets.
He was a well-known polygamous man throughout his life, and at the time of his death, he had thirteen wives.

Alaafin of Oyo wives
Many people are unaware of the identities of these wives, and we shall look at them in this post.
His first wife, Ayaba Abibat Adeyemi, was the most well-known because he was frequently seen with her at various gatherings.

When he is unable to attend functions with her, he alternates it among their other junior wives; yet, the first wife was the one who genuinely appreciated the company of the Alaafin of Oyo.
The names of the other wives are Ayaba Rahmat Adedayo Adeyemi, Ayaba Mujidat Adeyemi, Ayaba Rukayat Adeyemi, Ayaba Folashade Adeyemi, Ayaba Badirat Ajoke Adeyemi, Ayaba Memunat Omowunmi Adeyemi, Ayaba Omobolanle Adeyemi, Ayaba Moji Adeyemi, Ayaba Anuoluwapo Adeyemi, and Ayaba Damilola Adeyemi.
