We haven’t received any official information if Scream 7 will be released or not. Despite this, it appears likely that the movie will be released considering that Scream 6 was a box office triumph, earning over $167 million globally, easily outpacing 2022’s Scream (which brought in roughly $138.8 million).
Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, who co-directed Scream 6 with Tyler Gillett, stated during the film’s premiere that he “hoped” there would be a Scream 7, even if he wasn’t involved, possibly implying that Paramount was looking into the potential of hiring a new director.
Whether we’re involved or not, Bettinelli-Olpin declared, “We want to spend the rest of our lives watching Scream movies.” Scream, also known as Scream 5, was directed by Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett, who co-own the production company Radio Silence.
Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett expressed their desire for Scream 7 actor Neve Campbell to return to the series in a previous interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
“We wouldn’t abandon her. Both Neve and Sidney are dear to us. Therefore, we’d love to be able to work with her again, and we’re not giving up, said Bettinelli-Olpin.
In case you missed it, Scream VI was also the first Scream film to not include star Neve Campbell since the latter was unwilling to agree to the film’s requested salary.
According to Campbell’s statement from a year ago, “I felt the offer that was presented to me did not equate to the value I have brought to the franchise.”
What day will Scream 7 debut?
We are unsure about its release date at the moment. We may anticipate having to wait at least a year, if not more, before Scream 7 is released—assuming it is released at all—as it has not yet received official approval.
Fans of Scream were treated to a short wait between the fifth and sixth installments, but you’ll probably have to wait longer for this one.
However, between the time Scream 6 received the go-ahead on February 3, 2022, and the time it was published on March 10, 2023, the members of Radio Silence were able to complete filming and release a full feature. We are aware that these people are capable of completing a 13-month turnaround.
